History

The Flagler Corporation was founded in October, 1949 by Roy G. Flagler.   Roy had previously held the position of Works Manager for a large machine tool company that produced machinery for the HVAC Industry.  Roy founded the business around the 22 Ga. Portable Pittsburgh machine, which still uses 95% of the same components as the original machine.  He then continued to add more machines to the Standard Line of products along with designing and building custom roll form products.  He remained as the head of The Flagler Corporation until his death in 1969.

Harley J. Flagler, Roy ’s only son and current President of The Flagler Corporation has been at Flagler all of his adult life.  In order to gain a full understanding of The Flagler Corporation Harley worked in manufacturing and performed many jobs while learning the business.  Harley was Vice President of Engineering from the mid 1960’s until the mid 1970’s when he became President and General Manager.

Upon becoming President of The Flagler Corporation, Harley streamlined the manufacturing process, improved coordination between departments and maximized inventory control.  Harley also worked closely with his distributor network and factory representatives for the Standard Line of machinery increasing both the customer base and satisfaction.

Harley’s two sons, Frank and Harley Jr. both work at The Flagler Corporation.  Frank, the eldest son has worked at Flagler for over 20 years and is responsible for Purchasing as well as the CNC Lathe department. Harley Jr., is the current Vice President, is in charge of Sales and Engineering.
